Boxoffice Report-Bollywood Raja Natwarlal fails to impress, Mardani holds well

Emran Hashmi returned to theater after more than one year but audiences didn't find the product appealing enough. raja natarwala directed by Kunal Deshmukh who previously directed the actor in such hits Jannat and Jannat 2 earned a poor 13.80 crore at the box office.

Despite a holiday in some states the film didn't open too well. But there was chance of improving. Unfortunately the film wasn't good enough as proved by the film's saturday drop. Reviews were below average, so were the music.

 According to Box Office India the films daily figures are stated below : 

Friday : 4.8 crore 
Saturday :4 crore 
Sunday : 5 crore

 Mardani

Mardaani comes out in the second place. the film starring Rani Mukherjee from the director Pradeep Sarkar had fantastic reviews and that is proved by its good hold. the film collected 5.5-6 crore in its second weekend. Mardani was dicleared tag free in three states which definitely give the collection some boost..

Finally, Raja Natarwala's poor performance helped it. the total collection is 29 crore and the lifetime total will definitely pass the 35crore, a great result for a low budget women centric thriller.

 It was expected that Kick will enter 100 cr. club for sure . Kick has entered the 100 cr club on Tuesday . The Salman Khan - Jacqueline Fernandez starrer made a business of 127 cr in jut five days . The Higest collection for kick was Day 3 (Sun) . on Sunday the film made 30.18cr which is one of  the highest collection in Bollywood films . according to Bollywood Hungama the film collected the following figure in 5 days  :

Salman Khan’s Kick, Takes A Bumper Opening At The Box Office opening day . Kick Registers as 4th Highest Opening Day At The Box Office, After ‪ Dhoom3‬,Chennai Express‬, ‪ Ek ThaTiger‬  but unfortunately it failed to break the box office  record of Dhoom 3 &  Chennai Express . 

Dhoom 3 collected  36.32  cr and Chennai Express collected 33.12 cr at the opening day while Kick collected only 26.40cr  at the box office opening day .

Fox's sequel Dawn of the Planet of the Apes thumped its chest at the Friday box office

American science fiction film "Dawn the Planet of Apes",which began 20th century fox's reboot of the original "Planet of Apes" series. Directed by Matte Raveese and starring Andy Serkis, Gary Oldman, Jason Clarke and keri Russell .It is the eighth theatrical film in the franchise.

The sequel, which took in $27.7 million on Friday , which is pacing well ahead of Rise of the Planet of the Apes, which debuted $54.8 million in August 2011.Both of the film earned an A-in cinema score. The film is released across North America in 3,967 theaters of which 3,133 locations were in 3D.

Andy Serkis returning in the role of Caesar the ape, who has decamped to the forest of Marin County with hundreds of other genetically evolved apes and primates. When they are threatened by a band of humans who have survived a worldwide plague, a fierce divide erupts asking whether peace can be restored, or whether war is the only way to determine who will emerge as Earth's dominant species. 

The film is rolling out in 28 territories, including major markets Australia and South Korea. The tent-pole is waiting to open in many larger markets because of the World Cup.

Boxoffice Report: Bollywood | Ek Villain fever grips Box Office while Bobby Jassos & Lekar Hum Deewana Dil fails .

Ek Villain remains the number one film in Indian box office since any of the new releases couldn't make much of a headway. The super hit film earned 14 crore in its second weekend. Though its a steep drop, it was expected keeping in mind the movie's humongous start last weekend. Total business after second weekend is 87 crore and it has a chance of touching the 100 crore mark. 

In a distant second new film Bobby Jassos starring Vidya Balan earns 7.5 crore. As a word of mouth film, it still has chance and the film's decent growth over the weekend proves that . According to Box Office India daily figures are 1st day: 1.75 crore 2nd day: 2.50 crore 3rd day: 3.25 crore

The weekend's other new release Lekar Hum Deewana Dil opens in third place with an awful 1.5 crore. The film starts poorly on Friday and didn't show any growth which is truly surprising . The film starring new face Arman Jain was produced by Saif Ali Khan. Following the trend over the weekend the film has no chance and is a big looser at the box office

Bobby Jasoos & Lekar Hum Deewana Dil is a Box Office Disaster | Ek Villain to enter 100 crore Club

Bobby Jasoos and Lekar Hum Deewana Dil both released  on July 04, 2014 did not get a decent opening . Bobby Jasoos staring Vidya Balan collected  1.75 crores on first day which  release in over 1100 screens .  Bobby Jassos collected 4.31 cr. in box office till now . It's really very poor earning compared to other Vidya Balan films. It seems like the film will not be able to recover the budget .

Lekar Hum Deewana Dil, we were not expecting a big collection with this film as it starts newcomers .  Lekar Hum Deewana Dil collected  0.5crore at the opening day which is not up  to the marks . The film has collected approximately 1 crore in two days .

Ek Villain is now in its second week & the collections are also very good & competitive .  It collected 5.15 crores yesterday  which is very good earning .The film made approximately 81.50 crores at the domestic box office. The film is likely to enter the 100 crore club  in coming  2 or 3 days .

This weekend in movies: Bollywood Bobby Jasoos vs. Lekar Hum Deewana Dil

Ramadan is a quite month for Bollywood and we have just seen three back to back big films. So this weekend two medium budget film will face each other at the box office and virtually neither has a chance of dethroning Ek Villain from the top spot.

Both film will depend on word of mouth and interestingly both are mainly multiplex film. But Bobby Jasoos has a better chance to score since it has a big female name attached to it.

Marketing has been solid, specially Vidya Balan promoted her film via a new website as a cop. Plus the film has a good family appeal which is a good thing.

And we are getting another Kapoor member with Leekar Hum Dewana Dil. The film had music by the great A R Rahman. But unfortunately the songs did not click the audience perfectly which is a big problem for romantic films.

But the concept is fresh and the stars were everywhere promoting the film. Though urban themed fresh romantic films hasn't click recently, the film will try to buck that trend  .

It's hard to predict both films opening weekend since word of mouth will play a big part. So we are going only with the opening day prediction

Bobby Jasoos: 3 crore

Lekar Hum Deewana Dil: 2.5 crore

This weekend in movies: Hollywood , Transformers: Age Of Extinction

After three years Michael Bay is returning with one of the biggest franchise of recent memory 'Transformers' but the question is 'can the film retain its fan base with a new cast?'

Based on the Harbro toy brands the series was first introduce in 2009 by the executive producer Steven Spielberg. The two sequels came between next four years and all films were hugely successful, especially the third film entered the billion dollar club.

Thats should guarantee a sure shot hit but wait, there is some questions. The most important point is the absence of Shia Labeouf, just following the rules of replacing actress Megan Fox in the third entry this new film will introduce Mark Walhberg.

Paramount Pictures Transformers: Age Of Extinction

While Walhberg is a bigger draw, it makes the film missing its familiar tone. The other point is the toxic reception of the last two entry especially critically and this one isn't bucking that trend. As of now the film has an atrocious 13% rotten point at rottentomatoes that will definitely make some audience quit this entry

Still this summer is missing any breakout hit. And films like How to Train your Dragon, Spiderman or X-man is just missing their mark, there is a great chance that new robotic dinasours and a family friendly tone will make it a good win though touching the success of previous entry is near impossible. But look for a better overseas run that could once again take this entry to the one billion mark.

This weekend in Bollywood movies : Ek Villain

Two years before when Mohit Suri & Vishesh films decided to make the sequel Ashique 2 nearly twenty years after the original, it simply sounds like a really really bad idea.

But when the actual film came out, it blew away all the expectations and became one of the biggest hits of last year. To be honest, the film was a true phenomenon that was hugely liked by the audiences and the film's leggy run at the box office proved it.

Now the question is ' Will the history be repeated this weekend ? ' And all the signs point out that 'yes'. Ek Villain is darker in tone and Siddharth Malhotra will be seen as an action hero for the first time in his carrier.

Finally, there is Ritesh Deshmukh who will be seen in a role that is a comeplete departure from his wheelhouse i.e. Comedy. There is Nothing to say about the films music. It's already the biggest hit of the year. Songs like Galliyaan, Jarrorat and Banjarra are rocking the music chart.

If the film has any real problem at all, it's the film's darker tone. Will family audiences come to see this action heavy dark romantic film ? But that's not really a big problem since it's a really low cost film and the opening will ensure a healthy return.

Weekend: 30 crore
Lifetime: 70 crore

There is big chance that Bang Bang can collect more than 200 crores because of  strong star cast .

Humshakals first day Box Office collections are good !!

This week new release is Director Sajid Khan's multi Starer flick Humshakals. The movie is opening with mixed to poor responses by critics but we know that Sajid Khan movies are strictly prohibited for critics and their reviews.As his movies are for the audience who wants to come, enjoy and forget. Humshakals has released on nearly 3000 screens and is the third widest release of the year after Jai Ho and Holiday - A Soldier on Duty.Talking about its first day response on box office news is that after mixed response in morning shows the movie picked up decently till night show and it is heading for a solid first day total and is sure to cross 10 crore nett and may even possibly go to 11 crore nett which would be a decent result for the film.

According to reports as expected the film has fared best in Mumbai circuit with Gujarat having the best and most other circuits have also fared pretty well on day one. The multiplex collections are very similar to what Holiday - A Soldier Is Never Off Duty had on its first day. The single screens are lower than Holiday - A Soldier Is Never Off Duty as that film had the star power of Akshay Kumar at mass centers but the costs are also lower with Humshakals so if multiplexes do well on Saturday and the families come out on Sunday it will eventually do well at the box office.

This weekend in movies Bollywood: Humshakals with Box Office Prediction

This weekend we're getting three Saif Ali khan simply in one movie. Director Sajid Khan is releasing his fifth movie with Humshakals . Sajid khan had an awesome track record until 2013. His debut film Heyy Baby next film Housefull and its sequel Housefull 2 all were super hits. So he was almost one of the top most wanted director in Bollywood. And then came Himmatwala. One of the biggest disappointment of recent time not only critically but also commercially that ended his dream run. Fortunately, Humshakal is looking like it has all the element to become an instant hit.

The promo and songs are super fun with slapstick comedy everywhere. Though Sajid khan's lucky muscot Akshay Kumar is missing, Saif Ali khan fill up that nicely and add Ritesh and Tamanna, that's a nice pair.But the most important positive side for the film is its situation in schedule. It's been quite a long time a big budget comedy film had been released, add still successful but unable to live up its huge expectation 'Holiday' .

People are ready for a big budget commercial film.
