This weekend in Bollywood movies : Ek Villain

Two years before when Mohit Suri & Vishesh films decided to make the sequel Ashique 2 nearly twenty years after the original, it simply sounds like a really really bad idea.

But when the actual film came out, it blew away all the expectations and became one of the biggest hits of last year. To be honest, the film was a true phenomenon that was hugely liked by the audiences and the film's leggy run at the box office proved it.

Now the question is ' Will the history be repeated this weekend ? ' And all the signs point out that 'yes'. Ek Villain is darker in tone and Siddharth Malhotra will be seen as an action hero for the first time in his carrier.

Finally, there is Ritesh Deshmukh who will be seen in a role that is a comeplete departure from his wheelhouse i.e. Comedy. There is Nothing to say about the films music. It's already the biggest hit of the year. Songs like Galliyaan, Jarrorat and Banjarra are rocking the music chart.

If the film has any real problem at all, it's the film's darker tone. Will family audiences come to see this action heavy dark romantic film ? But that's not really a big problem since it's a really low cost film and the opening will ensure a healthy return.

Weekend: 30 crore
Lifetime: 70 crore

Ek Villain is an Bollywood romantic-thriller film starring Sidharth Malhotra and Shraddha Kapoor in the lead roles, The film also stars Riteish Deshmukh in a very significant role . The film is produced by Ekta Kapoor & and Shobha Kapoor . The film is directed by Mohit Suri , the director of Aashiqui 2 . The music of this film is composed by three music directors ,  Ankit Tiwari of  Sun Raha Hain Na Tu Fame , Mithoon of Aashiqui 2 fame & a band call Soch. The film has  6 songs . Shraddha Kapoor  lend her voice in one of the unplugged version of the songs . Mithoon has composed three song for this film . The film is distributed by ALT Entertainment . It's a medium budget film. The budget of this film is 25 crore . The film is all set  to release on June 27, 2014 .

According Bollywood Hungama Shraddha Kapoor's last film " Aashiqui 2 '' Collected 6.25 crore on the Opening Day , 20.50 Crore on the Opening Weekend & made a lifetime collection of 78.42 crore . The budget of the film was 9 crore. It did well at box office and was commercially successful .

Sidharth Malhotra's last film " Hasee Toh Phasee " Collected 4.65 crore on the Opening Day ,18.40 Crore on the Opening Weekend & made a lifetime collection of 37.4 crore . The budget of the film was 25 crore. It did average business at box office and was commercially successful .

Riteish Deshmukh's last film " Grand Masti " Collected 12.51 crore on the Opening Day , 40.18 Crore on the Opening Weekend & made a lifetime collection of 102 crore . The budget of the film was 35 crore. It did very well at box office and was commercially successful .
